The official story and what is suggested from an initial viewing of this clip is that EOD (Explosives Ordnance Disposal) was called in to eliminate the threat posed by a would-be suicide bomber whose car trouble prevented him from fulfilling his mission. However, Moon of Alabama has suggested this clip may be an example of "Some unlucky innocent guy who somehow had an accident, was trapped in his car and was blown up by the US military because they feared him to be a bomber." Their primary arguments seem to be chronologically related, which can easily be explained away considering that the soldiers who edited this are not professional filmmakers.
