Frank DellaPenna performs on a medieval, four ton instrument of bells. This instrument is known as a carillon and has been in existence since the 15th century, yet has remained one of the music world`s best-kept secrets.
I spoke with a lady working with Frank and she told me this is the only Carillon in existence today. Frank has also studied the movements of birds and tries to mimic them in his performance.
Hardly ever do I come across something that amazes me, but this did. It had a beautiful sound which I wasnt able to capture of film. It was difficult to sit as close as I did since the carillon is a very loud instrument but it was wonderful to watch his performance.
Enjoy!

We are all travelers… and witnesses. Our journeys have all led you here today so that I may share with you one of many paintings in my “Voices of Violence” series that encapsulate the challenges of women living their lives as survivors against all odds. This journey has finally come full circle, and has led these works here with you this evening to share some of this fascinating journey with you…a journey that certainly can take us all…from wounds…to wisdom.
