Does anybody else notice the Koala plushie? The lyrics by many requests. Travelling in a fried-out combieOn a hippie trail, head full of zombieI met a strange lady, she made me nervousShe took me in and gave me breakfastAnd she said,Do you come from a land down under? Where women glow and men plunder? Can`t you hear, can`t you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.Buying bread from a man in brusselsHe was six foot four and full of musclesI said, do you speak-a my language? He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwichAnd he said,I come from a land down underWhere beer does flow and men chunderCan`t you hear, can`t you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.Lying in a den in bombayWith a slack jaw, and not much to sayI said to the man, are you trying to tempt meBecause I come from the land of plenty? And he said,Oh! Do you come from a land down under? (oh yeah yeah)Where women glow and men plunder? Can`t you hear, can`t you hear the thunder? You better run, you better take cover.

Ruth Lewis president of the Ipswich Koala Foundation
Uncle Brian is keen to teach Fred about one of the most popular Australian native animals âthe Koalaâ so he arranges for Fred to be present when Ruth Lewis, the president of the Ipswich Koala Foundation, releases a recently rescued Koala back into the wild. Later Ruth invites Uncle Brian and Fred to her home where she looks after Koalas, as well as Kangaroos, who need her constant care and attention until they are able to be released again. Fred gets to see Kangaroos hopping around Ruthâs back yard and learns more about the Koalas being cared for by Ruth. Fred also gets to meet âSavannaâ a tiny 5months old baby Koala who was rescued from the pouch of her mother. Savannaâs mother was killed by a truck and Ruth is looking after her until she is big enough to look after herself. Fred had a really interesting day and he certainly learnt a lot about the problems that some of our wild national native animals face in Australia.
