For anyone thinking of getting a parrot-Please think long and hard. They are fantastic companions but do require lots of time and stimulation.Being owned by a parrot(!!) is demanding and a life-time commitment ( & they can live to around 70..) They have the cognitive abilities of a 5 year old child but the emotion responses of a 2 year old. They need companionship, stimulation and a lot of time..! this clip shows how distressed Roo gets when I leave her for about 15 mins. to take a bath.
