It is based on custard, coffee and alkermes where you have to dip the ladyfingers biscuits. English Trifle (Zuppa Inglese) Ingredients 5 deciliters of milk, 85 gr. of sugar, 40 gr. of powdered starch, 4 egg yolks, Vanilla, Coffee, Alkermes, Ladyfingers, Some pieces of chocolate, Cacao Powder. Preparation To prepare the custard put the milk in the pot then put it on the fire. First beat the sugar and the egg yolks together then add the powdered starch and stirr constantly; lastly add the tepid milk. Cook over a low flame and continue stirring constantly. Prepare a moka coffee cup. Fill a fluted mold with a layer of custard, dipp the ladyfingers biscuits in the coffee and make a layer on top. Garnish with some chocolate in small pieces. Add now another layer of ladyfingers this time dipped in Alkermes. Make sure you do not soak the biscuits too long in the coffee and alkermes, otherwise the excess liquid will ooze out and spoil the custard. Finish sprinkling the Zuppa Inglese with cacao powder and putting it in the fridge for about three hours. Cooking Time: about 1/2 hours Brunero Burbassi is cooking for us more >> <<less
