I set the camera up outside on the back porch to witness the melting of 2 lbs of wheel weight ingots and 6 lbs of pulled bullets.
The temp rose to about 635 degrees F in the Lee melter. That`s hot enough to boil of any water, start the bullet lube burning and melt the lead.. that`s about it.
The smoke is bullet lube from the pulled bullets burning not the lead. The boiling point of lead is 1749C.
You can see me skimming whats left of the bullet lube off at the end.
I going to use this lead to cast 225 grain Round Nose 45acp bullets for USPSA and 3gun matches.
