I sing this in a higher vocal range than the first mix. (I transposed it up five half-steps from G to C).
WHICH MIX DO YOU LIKE BETTER? Or, more to the point, which is more "accessible" to the average person? I think I am the strongest in the lowest range . . . but it also seems to limit my audience.
Technically, this is a baritone range whereas the first was a bass/basso profondo range.
I am torn as to which range I ought to be singing in . . . so please chime in with your opinion.

This is my cover of Jim Henson`s "The Rainbow Connection." It was suggested that I film both the piano and the overdub and then combine them. I seem to learn so much with each new video . . . it makes me want to delete and redo some old ones as they embarrass me!

[I keep redoing/remixing this. Hopefully this video is the final mix.] This cover is a tribute to a world class city that may never be the same. Like Nina Simone, I do this on a blues scale. Below are the lyrics I used, some of which I wrote:
There is a house in New Orleans
Call it the rising sun
It`s been the ruin of many poor boy
Lord I know I am one
If I listened twat my mamma said
I`d be home today
Bein so young and foolish lord
Let a rambler lead me astray
Go tell my baby sister
Never do like I have done
Shun that house in New Orleans
They call it the rising sun
[x2 Beneath the rising sun]
New Orleans
New Orleans
Ya ya ya ya ya
[Repeat first three verses x2]
New Orleans
New Orleans
Ya ya ya ya ya
Mamma was a taylor
Sold new blue jeans
Uncle was a drunkard
Gettin drunk in New Orleans
One foot is on the platform
The other one`s on the train
I`m goin back to New Orleans
To wear that ball `n chain
Back to New Orleans
Race is almost run
I`m going back to spend my days
Beneath the rising sun
New Orleans
New Orleans
House of the rising sun
No more flooding, no more pain
In the house of the rising sun
Hear them singing blues again
In the house of the rising sun
You singing, you sing
Yeah You better sing the blues again
You singin, you sing
Yeah go down `n sing the blues again
Angels, angels, hear`em
Sing the blues again
The angels of New Orleans
Yea they rock `n roll your
Rock `n roll your soul
The angels of New Orleans yeah they
Rock `n roll your
Knock`n roll your
Talk `n roll your
Shock`n roll your
Rock `n roll your soul
The angels praying praying save . . .
The house of the rising . . .
Sun.

[Note: this is my 3rd redo of this video. I think I`m finally getting toward how I want to sing/produce it].
